Role IntroductionThe Accountant sits under the Finance Customer Lifestyle team, mainly responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial accounting related matters for project implementation. You will be responsible for processing and uploading general ledger entries, reconciling accounting records with operational systems, and preparing schedules for budgeting and forecasting. You will be also assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts, supporting tax and regulatory filings, conducting year-end closing activities, and coordinating with external auditors to review internal controls and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Process and upload general ledger postings into the accounting systems
- Scrutinise the inputs from different Business Units and follow up with any abnormalities
- Involve in performance of reconciliations between accounting books and other key operational systems
- Support in the production of schedules for the annual budget exercise and for regular forecast updates
- Assist in the preparation of the Interim or Annual Statutory Accounts, and the identification of accounting issues at the Statutory Group level
- Prepare ad-hoc financial information analysis according to management’s requirement
- Assist in the timely and accurate completion of tax, statutory and regulatory filings or returns
- Perform year-end closing procedures and the preparation of year-end schedules for Group Reporting to Business Units
- Liaise and walk through internal controls and processes with external auditors
Requirements- Degree holder in Accounting or related discipline
- Professional designation in Accountancy (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Certified Public Accountant or Associate Chartered Accountant) is highly preferred
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in general ledger accounting
- Knowledge of SAP systems is preferred
- Strong analytical mind, interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
